Project Sunshine
Art therapy program for kids with cancer
Project Sunshine is an art therapy program for kids with cancer that currently is operating in Kanti Children’s Hospital, Maharajgunj, especially in the oncology ward.
The mission of Project Sunshine is to ensure that the children forget about the pain while engaging themselves in the artworks, strengthen themselves to fight cancer and also to embark on their post-treatment lives as survivors.
As children and adolescents don’t always have the words to express the emotions and their feelings. Art therapy brings a connection between the mind, emotion, body and disease and is the form of releases for unwanted emotions.
Some glimpses of children expressing their emotions through drawings.
